About this site

The Solar-Thruster-Sailor Site features mainly spacecraft designs of the author, especially solar sail spacecraft, which become solar sail power stations by using their large sail panel areas not only for transportation and steering, but also for space based power generation and transmission. This is enabled by the emergence of rollable thin film solar cell materials, which produce power and can also be used to move the center of mass and center of light pressure of the spacecraft at the same time.

The solar sail power station combines fuelless solar sailing technique by "Roller Reefing" with high efficient thruster propulsion by double thruster units (DTU) and a central docking station. " Roller Reefing " is a propriatary fuelless technique for high precision station keeping, steering and pointing.
The central docking station can serve to take in daughter units and/or to connect the power station to other space objects.
